Lists for Writers Version 1.5 for iOS

Today we are releasing version 1.5 of Lists for Writers on iOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch). This version fixes a few bugs. We improved support for VoiceOver (text to speech for the vision impaired).

This version adds full support for the iPhone 5 and 5th Generation iPod Touch. In order to fully support those devices and iOS 6, we are no longer able to support iOS versions prior to 4.3 and older arm 6 devices (the first and second generation iPod Touch, the original iPhone, and the iPhone 3G). We understand that a few users still use those devices and we wish that Apple made it possible to continue to support them.

Lists for Writers now has definitions

Lists for Writers now has definitions available (for iOS 5+)! This has become a frequently requested feature. Now you can tap on any word in a list and get the definition for it*.

We’re excited about this new feature and it’s already proven useful.

This update also adds a new list of body types and improves our support for older devices. The iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch second generation and older should all now be supported as long as they are running iOS 4.0 or higher.

* Not all words in the app appear in this dictionary, but most of those appear on lists that already contain a definition.

Story Dice updated for iPhone

The new 1.1 version of Story Dice is now in the iTunes App Store. This new version has a number of new items for die faces – up to 111 total now. Some of the existing faces were modified to be more recognizable. We also removed the status bar and dimmed the info / settings icon for a cleaner, more distraction-free experience. If you have ideas for additional die faces or any other suggestions, we’d love to hear them!

Story Dice on the iPhone

Our New App: Story Dice

Our newest app, Story Dice, is now available on the iTunes App Store. Story Dice can be used in a number of ways. It can be a creative writing prompt for writers young and old. It can be used as a pass-around game where players use the dice to extend a collaborative story. The app includes these and more usage ideas for fun and education.
There is an Android version coming soon, including support for the Kindle Fire and NOOK devices. To be notified when it is available, sign up for our announcement email list or Like us on Facebook.

Meet QI IQ and Improve Your Scrabble or Words With Friends Score

QI IQ - Memorize two letter words for Scrabble and Words With FriendsOur second app, QI IQ, is now available in the iTunes App Store. QI IQ is a tool to help learn which two letter words are valid in Scrabble®, Words With Friends, or Bananagrams. Knowing most or all of the valid two letter words makes it much easier to join your words in higher-scoring positions.

QI IQ lets you rapidly drill words whenever you have a few minutes. It keeps track of which words you’re struggling with and shows them more frequently. We hope you find it useful!

Lists for Writers 1.1 is Now Available

Our first update of Lists for Writers is now available in both the iTunes App Store and the Amazon Appstore for Android. The update adds some additional lists that users have suggested:

  • Emotions
  • Land forms – geographic features
  • People – relationships
  • Dialog verbs
  • World cities

The update also now supports iOS version 4.0 or higher. Previously only iOS version 4.3 or higher was supported but we heard from several iPhone owners that are still on 4.2 or 4.1.

Thank you for your feedback and we’re happy to hear any more suggestions from users!
